The Center for Philosophical and Cognitive Sciences is an interdisciplinary IKS Research Centre advancing rigorous work on cognition, consciousness, complex systems and their philosophical foundations.
Institutional identity
One centre, a clear institutional relationship
CPCSci is the IKS Research Centre for Philosophical and Cognitive Sciences recognised and supported by the Indian Knowledge Systems Division, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The centre is institutionally hosted by the Institute for Science and Spirituality Trust (ISS), Delhi. CPCSci leads the research-centre programme; ISS provides its institutional home and a wider setting for scholarship, education and dialogue. This distinction is reflected consistently across this website.

Purpose and scope
Research across methods and traditions
CPCSci was formed to create sustained dialogue between the mathematical and empirical sciences, philosophy of mind and Indian knowledge traditions.
Its programme connects foundational questions with testable research. Work in complex systems examines how memory, geometry and internal states shape collective organisation. Cognitive neuroscience projects study attention, meditation, agency and emotion through physiological measurement and interpretable computation. Philosophical research addresses perception, phenomenal unity and epistemology, while AI and neurotechnology projects explore responsible translation.
The centre treats Indian philosophical sources as serious intellectual proposals. They are studied in their own conceptual contexts, compared carefully with contemporary theories and brought into scientific enquiry only where claims, methods and limits can be made explicit.
